If F5 box crashes, what layer(L2 or L3) it will work?
If the F5 box crashes..not HW...may be due to other reason...what layer it will work?

Will be like a PC without OS.

Thanks Sudheer! what will be the impact of this kind of crash ? Nothing will work right (when not in HA)and all clients will get page cannot be displayed message or is it something else?

Layer 0. ;-) It depends. There are three different kernels running on the box - TMM, Mgmt, and AOM. If AOM is enabled, it generally survives a box crash, but only runs on the Mgmt interface. In a hard drive crash type scenario, TMM will not respond.

Thanks EI for that brief answer! this question was asked to me by one of INTEWER and he said that it works on L2..not sure how it is? but i missed asking him that what is the exact reason for Crash(kernels or something else)..
