iControl vs. iApp

I need to understand the basic difference between iControl and iApp. Where can I get basic beginner's tutorial on these technologies with examples ?

Hi Mayank,

 

The difference in one sentence.

 

iApp is used to deploy common applications behind the BIG IP using templates provided by F5.

 

iControl, are used to remotly manage configuration of the BIG IP using API calls

 

Example of possible operation :

 

  • create a monitor
  • delete a VS
  • list status of VS
