ICAP SERVER CONCEPT

Hi,

Think about one HTTP Request traveling from a web browser to a BIG-IP Virtual Server. And then you want to implement malware scanning in a transparent way in your BIG-IP Full Proxy. So the BIG-IP system are going to be the ICAP client and it will send the HTTP request to a server for our malware scanning purpose.

That server will scan the HTTP Request and then will send it again to the BIG-IP system if everything it's OK and pass the scan. The server that scan and approves the content is called ICAP Server.
