Oct 19, 2015How to add syslog server on F5s that are running v4.5.12
Hello,
What would be the appropriate procedure to add syslog servers on F5s that are running v4.5.12 ?
I did not find any article for that so far.
Would that be the same procedure as described...

Oct 19, 2015Looks like the only way here is by editing the /etc/syslog.conf file. Anyone have experience in that ?
I believe I will need to add IP's the following ways: - for example for bigip related messages (except bigd and sod messages):
BIG-IP facilities All bigip related messages go to this file except bigd and sod messages, which are local1 messages, and proxyd messages, which are local3.
local0.* /var/log/bigip local0.* @x.x.x.x local0.* @y.y.y.y local0.* @z.z.z.z
Kind regards, Frederik

Oct 23, 2015Hi Patrick,
FYI, I managed to do this change successfully.
Steps to follow are:
1. Back up the current syslog.conf file: cp /etc/syslog.conf /etc/syslog-backup.conf
2. edit the syslog.conf file (add the necessary remote syslog IP's) with vi
3 save the new syslog.conf file ( :wq! )
4 make sure the routing for the new syslog servers is OK.
If needed:
route add -net
