How to access APL application name var in a macro

Hi as per the title , i dont seem to be able to access the iapp application name variable within a macro, i have no issues accessing APL variables i create as described here https://devcentral.f5.com/Wiki/iApp.Creating-an-iRule-Template-to-Save-Time-and-Improve-Usability.ashx and https://devcentral.f5.com/wiki/iApp.iApp-Macro-Feature-Specification.ashx

 

I have an irule where i need to call a virtual server that is also created by the same iapp, the only way i have gotten around it is to create another variable that i also put the iapp's name into.
