How Packet filters works in F5?

Hi Folks,

Need to understand the Packet Filter.

1) Is it bi-directional? I mean stateful. The return traffic will be allowed. 2) What do you mean by Filter established connections? (Default value is disabled)

Please refer with links or example.

    Hi Mubasher,

    Yes packet filters are stateful.

You can apply a new packet filter to existing connections if you enable that option.

  • Packet filters enforce an access policy on incoming traffic. They apply to incoming traffic only.
