NimbostratusHostname Changed automatically after LB upgrade from 11.x to 12.x
Hi,
I upgraded our LB act/standby pair last weekend. After upgrade I see hostnames of both boxes are changed form VLBDMZ.xxx.biz to VLBDMZ.localdomain.That was the only Change I saw , the remaining config is proper. I changed the hostnames manually by modify sys global settings hosntname <>.But I still see the same hostname with localdomain after sync form act to standby. Then I have change hostname from GUI on platform tab. Now it is proper but device group is still not updated.May I know the reason behind this why the hostname changes after upgrade.
I am planning to do device reset trust.

Upgraded many device but never face any issue related to host name. Open support case.

If this is a vCMP guest you should also verify that the hostname is properly set on the vCMP host. Otherwise, I would also suggest you open a support case.
There isn't enough data here to give you a definite answer, and I was not able to find any known issues that would cause this.
SaiNetwork_1624Yes this is a Viprion guest..This was properly set..but some how the name got changed as name.localdomain instead of name.. I got a response to reset trust but they are still not sure what could be the reason for hostname change.

YOu are genius. yes the hostname is pushed by VCMP Host and the name is derived form the host after reboot.
