Host health monitor with UDP + ICMP
Hi F5 expert,
I have previously used to monitor 1 of the host with the UDP port, however if the server goes offline, F5 still mark the host up. Upon checking, I found UDP monitor operation can't detect the host goes offline but only detect the host service port availability. https://support.f5.com/csp/article/K6143
I am thinking to add the monitoring from UDP conjunction with ICMP monitor. But i puzzled with multiple monitoring, if i have 2 monitoring added to monitor the host. F5 will mark the host down either 1 of the monitoring failed or it will only mark the host down when both of the monitoring failed?

As per above case, I would recommend you to add two monitor in pool to check the pool status. While adding monitor to pool, Go go to advance setting(
) and apply minimum 2 Monitors.ConfigurationIt will check both monitor. if any one fails, LB will make pool member down. Hope it will help you..
