High RPC thread number on a CAS exchange server (v2010) after upgrading from v11.1 HF3 to v11.3 HF8
Hi,
After upgrading a VIPRION 2400 from v11.1 HF3 to v11.3 HF8. Outlook client suffers from many disconnection. After coming back to the version initial, this disconnection disappear.
On the CAS we have a RPC thread number increasing up to 500 after the upgrade. This causing disconnection on outlook clients. We see on tcpdump capture there has sometin RPC Fault with error code status equal to 1722 meaning "The RPC server is unavailable".
Is anyone encountered this kind of problem ?
Best regards,

Are you using ASM to protect Exchange 2010?
I know that RPC over HTTP in Exchange 2010 uses one huge HTTP request to carry all the client-server RPC traffic and similarly a huge HTTP response to carry all the server-client message traffic. Since ASM buffers each transaction it can't handle such traffic.
