Help with F5 VE Lab addition on ESXi 5.5
Hey everyone. Mainly a network gear with very little experience with VMware. Trying to install F5 VE Lab edition and running into some questions/issues.
When following the guides and videos i've seen online after opening the OVF template i should be able to map out the internal, external and management interfaces to the NIC associated with my Host. I'm only getting something called "VM network" which is attached to vSwitch 0. Can someone guide me in the right direction? How does everyone have it setup on their end? Just 1 physical NIC to a switch and all the VLAN's are trunked?
Thanks

If you download the ovf template there is an ESXi administrator option called Deploy ovf template. Are you using that option?
See halfway down this page for details. http://www.petenetlive.com/KB/Article/0000562.htm

Yes i've done what is listed but for some reason I don't have the option of mapping the NIC's to a management, internal, external, HA. My guess is I need to create these in vSwitch and maybe assign a VLAN for each one and create a trunk? Just trying to get suggestions and see how other guys have set this up.

The interfaces have to exist already on the ESXi side to map them. In other wods VLANS mapped to named interfaces in your ESXi network configuration. If you haven't mapped additional interfaces in ESXi networking globally then the OVF has nothing to choose from, just ESXi defaults. So you are correct, you need to create them.
