NimbostratusHealth Monitor recommendations for Sybase ASE database application
Hi,
Has anyone deployed the Sybase ASE database application behind an F5 LTM? I would like to have your opinion on best practice health monitors for this Sybase ASE DB application?
I have been planning to go with either service availability monitoring (checking the service port) or have an SQL query based HM to go beyond the simple service check. Logically an SQL query based check will be more reliable and ideal, however I am trying to figure out the best way forward.

That database is new for me. I don't see any built-in monitor for that.
Your monitor should test the application itself, not only the that the port is open with TCP monitor.
When there is no built-in monitor, you can create your own with an external monitor.
