Health Monitor for monitor on a different port.

I have two pools, port 80 pool and 800 pool, that have the same 3 servers in them. I will be using a basic http monitor for the 80 pool, but I also need to have a monitor that will mark a server in the port 800 pool down if its port 80 http monitor fails/comes back incorrectly. Can this be done with health monitors? Is there a way to monitor a different port than the pool member is configured for?

    Hi Will,

     

     

    In the health monitors you have 2 fields called Alias Address and Alias Service Port. if you set the Alias Service port to 800 and apply it to the nodes, then it will monitor port 800 even though you are load balancing port 80. You can also monitor port 800 and 80 with separate monitors in the same pool.
