GTM Monitor

I am monitoring a generic host on TCP port 21 from GTM. The monitor is successful, however I cannot see any of the traffic with tcpdump. I know the monitor is working through testing it, I just cannot see the monitor traffic. I have no problems seeing the monitor traffic when I create the same pool member IP and monitor under "local traffic". Any ideas?

    Your LTM in the same DC may be performing the monitoring, do you tcpdump there to confirm.

    That is exactly what is happening. One of the LTMs in that DC is health checking and sharing status via iQuery.

    hi... diggin up an old thread here, but just wondering if there is a way to disable this behaviour and have the GTM monitor the servers itself rather than rely on the LTM which has no knowledge of the servers.

    Create a "Proper Pool" on the GTM and assign only the GTM's that you want to initiate the healthcheck. Then assign that Prober pool to the Generic host.
