Gradual migration to a GTM
Hi,
We have recently deployed two GTMs and are looking at delegating our existing domain name to the GTM.
However rather than doing a 'big bang' change I was wondering how we can do a gradual migration away from our current DNS providor.
Basically I don't want to delegate the entire domain straight to the GTM and risk an outage due to config problems on the GTM.
I was thinking I could create a subdomain, delegate that to the GTM, then use CNAMEs which point to the subdomain.
This way I'd be able to cut over all my DNS gradually....
Does anyone know if this is possible?

It is very common to do a subzone delegation. This should help:

Thats the way i do it. A domain (domain.com) serviced regularly by a separate dns, and a sub domain (global.domain.com) delegated to gtm. Then to gtm'ize an address, simple create service.global.domain.com in gtm as the wip, and a cname in dns for service.domain.com that has a CNAME service.global.domain.com.
