Formula for Connectons per second

Hi,

 

Can you tell me if the 2 formulas below is the same for calculating connection per second?

 

The reason I ask is because we do not have data the first one.

 

(sysStatClientTotConns5m + sysStatServerTotConns5m) /40000

 

((SYSSTATCLIENTCURCONNS / PERIOD) + (sum(SYSTMMSTATSERVERCURCONNS) / PERIOD) ) / 40000
