Failed Management pack install (ver. 1.6.1 and 1.7)

Thanks. I checked the GAC and found 2 things:

 

First, I only have the GACUTIL file in the .Net V.1.1.4322, and that version apparently doesn't work well for registering .Net 2.0 files

 

(I've tried installing the CustomMarshalers.dll into the GAC again but received a "Fail: Unknown error". Apparently Ineed to download the GACUTIL for 2.0 which comes with the SDK...

 

 

Second, in the GAC itself, I found the following entry:

The cache of ngen files contains the following entries:

 

CustomMarshalers, Version=1.0.5000.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=b03f5f7f11d50a3a, Custom=5a00410050002d004e0035002e0032002d00380046002d00350034003700460034004200370033000000

 

-----

 

 

Which, apparently, doesn't help.

 

Guess I'll download the SDK and take the gacutil off of it, then try to reinstall the file into the GAC with it.

** Update: Copied the GACUTIL from the SDK on my workstation to the SCOM server and registered the CustomMarshalers.dll into the GAC.

 

F5 MP setup failed again. similar issue it seems although the error message was a bit different. attaching new setup log file.

 

Do I need to actually install the SDK on the server?

 

I'm pretty hesitant about installing it on a production server...
