Hi,
In a fail-over scenario, what happens to existing connections on active device when you force it to become standby? Will the connections get dropped?

CirrocumulusYes, by default. For some traffic you won't notice, say HTTP, for other long lived traffic you will do. One way around this is to configure connection mirroring, see Overview of connection and persistence mirroring. In v12 you can also mirror SSL connections too see BIG-IP support for SSL connection mirroring
