F5 Monitoring Log Events

Approximately, every 5 minutes I am getting the same warning event logged in the F5 Monitoring Event log on the Ops Mgr server. These started after upgrading to 1.7.0.

Event ID: 802

Source: F5 Events

Message: Unable to convert the updated rules due to data failure

Thanks

    Hello,

This error can happen when there is a problem accessing the performance counter collection rules, and associated overrides.

Can you provide us with the detailed F5 service log, which should contain more specific error information about the inaccessible rules?

You can find more information on obtaining detailed or verbose logs at: http://devcentral.f5.com/wiki/default.aspx/MgmtPack/GeneralTroubleshooting.html

You can email the service logs to ManagementPack(at)f5(dot)com if needed, and reference this Support post.

    Thank you,

    Stephen Fisher

    Hello,

The output should be written to the file SystemInformation.F5.log in the current directory.

What PowerShell console output do you see when you run the SystemInformation.ps1 script?

    Thank you,

  • It shows it is doing stuff, has an error when checking for cluster but continues through. See screen shot for complete details.

    Thanks

    Hello,

It looks like there may be a bug in the latest version of the SystemInformation.ps1 script that writes the log file to the Operations Manager installation directory rather than the current directory.

You can find the installation directory via the Registry key:

    HKLM:\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Microsoft Operations Manager\3.0\Setup\InstallDirectory

    Sorry for the confusion.

    Thank you,
