F5 Internal vs External - Different Instances
Just taking a list of opinions here.
Do many of you have a different F5 device (for security reasons) that handles all your external facing traffic and a different one that handles all internal load balancing? I know some people may have different ones for other reasons based on different hardware, licensing etc...
In our situation we have two 5000 series with vCMP licenses. On each box we have an external vm and an internal vm (for a total of 4 instances, 2 external, 2 internal)...we were looking to simply things and get the most horsepower out of the box by possibly doing away with the vCMP and using the hosts standalone as one box that does everything....thoughts on this? Would there be any reason to do a single vCMP guest vs using the standalone box?
