F5 GTM

Hi all,   Just wondering how to deploy GTM?   Do i need to put each GTM in each data center or i can use one GTM only?   I see some diagram there is only need 1 GTM to cater for two data cen...

i would engage you local F5 team and have them provide some advise.

 

you could get a way with just one GTM, but that does make it the single point of failure. say you put it in DC1 and DC1 fails then how will clients find DC2?

 

if redundancy isnt an issue then one GTM can be enough. it is DNS load balancing so the client queries the DNS entry, the GTM answers and sends it to either DC1 or DC2 (simplified).
