Sep 03, 2009F5 firepass VPN and Mac OS X 10.6 snow leopard
With Firefox 3.5.2 and Safari 4.0.3 (when started in 32 bit mode) I
am able to connect to my network at work from outside using the F5 plugin but when I terminate the connection the OS kernel crashes.
I am using Mac OS X 10.6 (snow leopard). This did not happen under 10.5 but under 10.5 the connection always dropped every now and then and connecting did most of the times take a few attempts.
any ideas to avoid the OS crash under snow leopard ?

Thanks for the replies.
I searched askf5 but only found a statement that firepass is currently not supporting snow leopard: no workaround given - Michael_64316

The firepass at work was updated to 603-4 and I haven't had a kernel panic since. I haven't used it often yet but previously I got a panic every other time I connected.
I have also found stainless to give much more stable connections than safari. I think that it is stainless's much more aggressive use of threads that helps. - Mike_61719

Has this issue been fixed? My university uses Firepass to allow access to specific ports blocked for general users (port 21 for example, for FTP), and the web plug-in that they supply causes kernel panics, when one gets it to connect.
If the issue has been fixed, how and where can one obtain the newest web plug-in? - scooterb_87043

v6.0.3-5 does support Snow Leopard and network connect. In fact our users said they think the connection and file transfers are better then previous code using earlier OSX.
I was provided with HF v6.0.3-5 because we had random issues with Outlook unable to send attachments when connected to the f5 network connect. This HF has not been released because they are having issues with it in a cluster but we have a standalone. Snow Leopard works great with it from the reports I have from my users.
