F5 cronjob/crontab for scheduling restart for not critical demons like tomcat, http, restjavad, icrd_child etc.

Hello to All,

When I hit a GUI or REST-API memory bug I schedule a restart with Linux crontab/cronjob each night out of working hours with ""bigstart restart xxx"". I know that a REST-API can do this but I think that this is the fastest option.

Any recommendations for doing in another way till an upgrade to solve the bug?

I also don't know if the BIG-IQ can schedule such commands to reboot services?

BIG-IP daemons (14.x) (f5.com)

  • For what it's worth, I'd do the same thing using Crontab. Actually, I have done that in the past. Of course, you should upgrade asap as although these operations should be benign they are changes to the system and can cause problems.

    Kind regards,

    Patrik
