F5 AS Reverse Proxy Question

topology client----Internet---F5---SERVER F5 has a publish ip address and a private ip address. when i create a virtual servser use the publish ip address as standard type. i want to ask that will the client establish TCP connect with F5, then F5 will establish TCP connect with SERVER??? there are 2 TCP connects Client with F5, F5 with SERVER. OR

when the client sent request, F5 change the packet source ip address to private ip address and transfer to SERVER? there is one TCP connect, and F5 just do SNAT.

My requirement is client should not establish TCP connect with SERVER.

  • F5 standard virtual server works in full proxy mode, so there is two connections, client side and server side.
