Export config file of specific partition to a new F5 LTM
Hello,
I have a cluster of LTM (v11.2.1) with several partitions. I need to export two partitions to a new fresh f5 LTM and erase them from first cluster. Is there a simple method to import/export config file of these two partitions specifically?
Existing: partition A, B, C, D, E, F all on LTM 1
Aim: partition A,B,C,D on LTM 1 and E,F on new LTM 2
Advice please!

Hi,
It depends what objects are in the partitions. If there is perfect separation - i.e. there is nothing in the common partition, then you could try to copy the /config/partitions/partition_name/bigip.conf & bigip_base.conf files onto the new box but it would most likely throw some errors. Some objects have to remain in the common partition - ssl certs etc.
IMHO you would be better off installing the config on both boxes using the no-license switch:
tmsh install sys ucs xyz.ucs no-license
And then deleting the objects and partitions you don't want on the boxes.
That is how I would do it anyway...

Hello, ok to install the same config on the new box, but how should i do? the new box is a fresh one. Should i connect the new box to old one? Yours - ben_wyatt_12961Historic F5 Account
Make an archive ( system > Archives ) then copy it to the new unit and install using the no-license switch.

Hello,
I have 8 partitions on my LTM (version 11.2.1). How can i create an archive of the global configuration? I need to know if i go On partition common, and choose system > Archives > create, does this create an archive of the conf of all the partitions or only of common?
Advice Please!

How can i create an archive of the global configuration?
ucs file contains configuration from all partition. each partition has its own directory.

additionally, you can merge part of configuration using tmsh command.

So if i create an Achive from the Configuration Utility : system > Archives > create, i should obtain a file that contains the global conf of my LTM?
