Export config file of specific partition to a new F5 LTM

Hello, I have a cluster of LTM (v11.2.1) with several partitions. I need to export two partitions to a new fresh f5 LTM and erase them from first cluster. Is there a simple method to import/export ...

Hi,

 

It depends what objects are in the partitions. If there is perfect separation - i.e. there is nothing in the common partition, then you could try to copy the /config/partitions/partition_name/bigip.conf & bigip_base.conf files onto the new box but it would most likely throw some errors. Some objects have to remain in the common partition - ssl certs etc.

 

IMHO you would be better off installing the config on both boxes using the no-license switch:

 

tmsh install sys ucs xyz.ucs no-license

 

And then deleting the objects and partitions you don't want on the boxes.

 

That is how I would do it anyway...
