I build my Exchange 2010 environment with iApp I get a different result when building it with the deployment guide.
I want to use simple http monitors.
With iApp I get a send string:

So all my simple monitors for https should have a send string that contains:
GET / HTTP/1.1\r\nHost: [dns-name]\r\nConnection: Close\r\n\r\n
