Enable SMB ver 2.0 on CLI - NOT A MONITOR

I am trying to adjust my backup script to change from FTP to using a UNC path and it looks like the best way was to mount a CIFS share. The problem I am having is that it's trying to use SMB version 1 which everyone in the world now has shutdown. Unfortunately putting the -o vers=2.0 option is not working as a pcap shows it still trying v1 and the connection just shuts down. About the only thing I can find is that iapp someone made a while back, but i'm not interested in that. Is it possible the F5 doesn't have v2 installed on it? I am on 11.5.4.

  • Samba was stripped out of the BigIP install prior to 11.4.0 (I don't have an exact version), briefly added back in from 11.4.0 to 11.6.0, then stripped for 12.0.0. 11.5.4 runs version 3.0. SMB2 support was fully added in 3.5. As such, no it does not support SMB2 in version 11.5.4.
