email downloads slow

Hi

 

We've been using a bigip successfully for a number of years on our SMTP email and have recently added POP to it too.

 

However users say that downloading single large emails via POP is very slow.

 

When they pop the actual mail server directly, they don't experience the problem.

 

Are there any changes one can make to improve things?

 

We're using a v4 BigIP.

    If everything else is working okay, I'd suggest capturing a tcpdump of a slow download via the BIG-IP and compare that with a tcpdump on the server itself when a client bypasses the BIG-IP. If you need help capturing or analysing the tcpdump, you can check these SOL's and/or open a case with F5 Support:
