Email alerts

Hi All,

 

 

Just curious as to what others may be using for email alerting of LTM/GTM events (i.e. host up/down) other than the officially supported configuration of /etc/alertd/alerts.conf.

 

 

Migrating from an environment using CSM modules and Ciscoworks HSE and for email alerts, the supported F5 alertd email configuration comes close, but still fals a little short in terms of providing a nice summary of detail (pool name, etc.) in the trap.

 

 

I'm refining my own snmptrapd handler for a monitoring host, but at the same time I'm finding it hard to believe that I'm the first person to walk this path. Suggestions anyone? F5 featurtes I may have overlooked, KB articles, FOSS, and otherwise all welcome.
