Edit ASM config using iControl

I am a bit confused on how to do this as I am newbie to F5 and iControl. I do understand that iControl is a java based api set to access F5. Tried exporting/downloading ASM policy xml and uploading/importing policies to F5 using iControl and it worked. But i could not find an option where i can connect to a device and modify a few config parameters of an available policy on that F5 device. I dont want to export/download the policy and change it and then upload/import it back to make the change...
