Deploy Enterprise Manager into a vCMP environment??

Hi all,

 

I'm new to Enterprise Manager, but we run two C2400 VIPRIONs with vCMP (BigIP 11.3), and I'm wondering if I can just deploy a guest running the module? Is this possible? Is it possible to run the software without a dedicated hardware appliance?

    I'm not sure you could... The license for EM is a base license IIRC. And I"m not sure you can have more than one of those on a host, and as Viprion licenses are tied to the host and not the vCMP guests, I'm not sure you could load the EM license onto the Viprion host in parallel with the LTM/etc licenses.

     

    However the proof of a pudding is in the eating as they say... Have you tried yet? Backup your license file first and don't doit on a running production chassis :)
