Aug 23, 2012Delegation of the root A record in a zone to GTM?
example.com is owned by a 3rdparty.
they have delegated zonea.example.com to us. We would
like to have zonea.example.com as an A record be managed
by the GTM.
If it was www.zonea.example.com, it would be the usual:
www.zonea.example.com CNAME www-zonea.gtm.mycompany.com.
gtm.mycompany.com NS gtm0.mycompany.com.
gtm.mycompany.com NS gtm1.mycompany.com.
and then in the GTM define www-zonea.gtm.mycompany.com
as a wideIP.
but since zonea.example.com is on the zone boundary it can't
have a CNAME entry.
I have tried in my nameservers just doing a stub delegation
of zonea.example.com to the gtm's, but that of course results
in my nameservers being considered as lame servers.
anybody have any tricks/techniques I can do, or am I basically
SOL and have to have the 3rdparty directly point at out GTM's
instead of our normal public NS's?
