Nimbostratusdefault TCP profile - idle timeout vs keepalive
Nice short one... the default TCP idle timeout is 300 seconds, yet the default keepalive interval is 1800. What's going on here? Is there some subtlety I'm missing here? How does it wait 6 times longe...

CirrostratusThe only thing I can think of is maybe the default is set so that keepalives will only be used if the idle timeout is increased past 1800 seconds.
You could open a case with F5 Support to clarify the logic and/or request a change to the default value.
