default TCP profile - idle timeout vs keepalive

Nice short one... the default TCP idle timeout is 300 seconds, yet the default keepalive interval is 1800. What's going on here? Is there some subtlety I'm missing here? How does it wait 6 times longe...

Right, so why the bizarre defaults?? if that's the intended behavior, then the keepalive should be set to zero surely? It's pretty misleading I think, as I would think users are given to believe they must be *good* defaults...
