Comprehensive LTM syslog list
Is there a reason why F5 does not have a comprehensive list of ltm syslog messages that includes an explanation and a recommended action for each? Anyone have any suggestions? I need to go thru 3000+ messages, document each, figure out which ones should get sent up to our helpdesk, and filter out the rest.

I am not sure this is what I am looking for. It seems those log messages would need to be triggered first in order to show up in iHealth. I need something that would encompass all possible syslog messages.

Something similar to Cisco or other vendors is exactly what I am looking for. Thanks for looking; if I hear or find anything, I will share.

As far as I know, F5 does not have documentation for every log message. On my 11.5.x box, there are >5000 messages:
wc -l /var/run/bigip_error_maps.dat 5240 /var/run/bigip_error_maps.dat
sol6420: The /var/run/bigip_error_maps.dat file maps the alertd process input from the syslog-ng utility to an alert name
They do have documentation in the manual for SNMP traps which are most likely the most important log messages. That is a pretty good document:
Monitoring BIG-IP System Traffic with SNMP
Hope this helps.

Hi prt,
We have a list now and will continue to add more as we go. If you have any questions about log messages that are not on the list, please reach out to support and we can have someone research them for you.
