Code Upgrade F5 HA

Regards to F5 Code Upgrade can you help with following queries ::

 

For a HA F5 Platform ( Virtual ) after we do the code upgrade of Standby node 1st then to do code upgrade at Active Node , need to change the role for Active One to Standby Node. My question is once I do upgrade for Standby Node is that possible to shift the traffic to Standby Node from active Node ? Reason I am asking is once we do the code upgrade at Standby node between Active & Standby there will be dissimilarity for version so thinking at that moment HA works or and I will be able to shift traffic ?

 

Also License reactivation need to be done at both node for an HA ?

    Hi Subrun,

    When nodes are running different versions, you can change role of standby node to active.

    For license verification, the BIG-IP and Enterprise Manager systems verify the license check date in the software against the service check date in the license file. If service check date older than license check date, you must reactivate licenses in both nodes.

    The license reactivation process may reload the configuration and temporarily interrupt traffic processing.
