tcpdump -i :nnn -s0 -w /var/tmp/testdump.dmp

i guess interface 0.0 is truncated by formatting. i understand what Kiozs replied is something like this:

 tcpdump -i 0.0:nnn -s0 -w /var/tmp/testdump.dmp
