Chatbot Delay Issue BIG-IP ASM
Hi
I am facing delays of 15-20 sec in sending and recv of messages in my chatbot app which is part of a web app, the web app works fine but WAN users when use chatbot app, they face delays. I have tried to change my tcp profile to wan-optimized after going through an article regarding service delays for wan users but the issue still persist. I am using BIG-IP VM with ASM module.
Also please note that the app works fine when ASM is bypassed.
Regards
Hi Jamshaid,
Have you try to use OneConnet profile to increase network throughput and see if it's fix the delay ?

Hi Lidev
The on connect profile is used in case of multiple servers. I only have a single server for this application. I also have tried tcp wan optimized profile by disabling Nagle's algorithm as well. But still facing delays

Hi,
From my experience. The ASM process from top view is simple is traffic not match with the policy. ASM will be block if not match it will forward to LTM process to continue.
The delay issue might be happend with multiple reason. I have ever use iRule to tracking the delay time between client side and server side connection.

I have a single server serving this app and I have even tried tcp wan otpmized profile while disabling nagle's algorithm which might cause delays in normal communication. but still facing this issue.

Hi,
Normally either ASM transparent or blocking mode. F5 will inject javascript and addtional ASM cookie to tracking the web application.
I had this experience issue because on the client side application cannot proceed too much http cookie and some of the request has failure.
