Changing SFPs on a BIG-IP LTM C112
I need to swap a 10000-SR for a 1000-SX SFP on a C112 unit in order to put a Tap to take a sniffer trace. Of course, the BIG-IP will be put off-line during the troubleshooting session. Can the SFPs be hot-swapped? Will the BIG-IP need a reboot to recognize the SFPs? Do I have to manually change the configuration (modify net interface media )?

looks like you can hot swap http://support.f5.com/kb/en-us/products/big-iq-cloud/manuals/product/platform-big-iq-7000/5.html

Your article mentions about a BIG-IQ 7000. I have a BIG-IP LTM 2000 (C112). Is it the same?

I would be surprised if they are not hot swap capable on the 2000s, I know I have inserted new SFPs while the box is running and had no issues using them after install.

But if I change an SFP 10000-SR for a 1000-SX, will it ajust the speed accordingly or will I have to manually change it or reboot the machine?
my experience with SFPs is that they are hotswapable and things like speed adjust automatically. still there is always the chance it doesn't go right.
