Cannot update preferences via GUI on BIG-IP

I have created a lab to study for my 201 exam. I am currently running the following version:

 

admin@(bigip)(cfg-sync Standalone)(Active)(/Common)(tmos) show /sys version

 

Sys::Version Main Package Product BIG-IP Version 11.6.1 Build 0.0.317 Edition Final Date Wed May 4 17:48:47 PDT 2016

 

admin@(bigip)(cfg-sync Standalone)(Active)(/Common)(tmos)

 

When I go into (via the GUI) System --> Preferences and try and update the preferences, it just stays at the "Loading....Receiving configuration Data from your device" screen and subsequently the changes aren't updated. I can make changes and additions on many other dialogs within the GUI.
