Can you use 3rd party certificates in a GTM/DNS Synchronization group?

Hi;   When using the bigip_add command on each BIG-IP DNS in the Synch group, can you use certificates signed by a 3rd party in the certificate exchange, or you must only use the self-signed ones?...

Yes, you can but you need to import CA certificates. Go to "System >Device Certificates > Trusted Device Certificates " and import CA certificate and CA intermediate.
