Boot partitions in f5

Hello friends,

In one of the f5 device i manage i have two boot partitions installed with v10 and v11 in hd1.1 and 2 respectively.

Does this partitions are independent of each other ? i mean do they use any similar files or all files used are independent of each version ?

Can i consider it as a linux box running with two different distros on different drives ?

Im confused please help. SAM :P

  • yes, they are separated. Own software and using logical volumes.

A volume is shared among software slots, mounted as /shared/

Software images and hotfixes are in /shared/ that's why you always see them whatever you boot on slot X or Y

Here some (little) more info. It was better documented with previous versions.

Does that mean if a system user is created in one boot partition say , running version 11 and the when booted on v10 user account wont exist at all ?
