BIGIQ and error saving on BIGIP

Every device I have added to BIGIQ I can no longer make changes on through the BIGIP GUI. Is this intended? While I can see it would be valuable to force all changes through BIGIQ it's not really practical until you can do everything in BIGIQ that you can in BIGIP. is there a way to override it?

 

I keep getting TMSH -u save / sys config partitions all command failed. in the BIGIP GUI when I update any object.
