BigIP migration tool
I intend using F5's Migration tool to migrate a new F5 hardware LTM pair into my current F5 LTM pair cluster in order to migrate configurations with ease and bring new hardware online, old hardware offline as per doc https://support.f5.com/csp/article/K15496addrs
However, one thing is a little unclear is that the article mentions you must configure elements such as VLAN's but does not mention Self IP's ?
Does anyone know if I have to configure Self IP's and all of the Network configuration for the new pair before migration? Ideally I would like to use all self IP's that are already configured for my current live pair to be the same on my new pair....would be great if the migration tool and can copy over all the Self IP's as well!
If not possible would it mean that I need to configure and re-address all new Self IP's for everyone of my 100 Vlan's in advance of migration, so there is no conflict with current LTM pair Self IP's? because in my eyes if my new pair has the same self IP's as production this may cause conflict problems during migration?
Thanks

You will need to configure local Self-IP addressing yourself as the migration method you have shared is to create a new device service clustering (DSC) between the devices.
However, you can simply configure the VLANs and a single Self-IP to be used as the Config Sync address to get the configuration copied/synced over to the new device then break the DSC (making sure the new device is offline in some way) then take the Self-IP configuration from the
configuration file and do a configuration merge in TMSH.bigip_base.conf
Then you migration cut over can be to simply take the old F5 off-line (recommend off the network by shutting down the interfaces) and bring the new F5 BIG-IP online.
I also highly recommend looking at running the BIGdiff (https://devcentral.f5.com/codeshare/bigdiff-1160) tool to assist with checking the status of Virtual Servers and Pools etc during the migration.
