[BIG IP VE version 13.0.0] IP Forwarding VS not working
Hi all, I have a problem when I try to test IP Forwarding VS. My topology bellow:
Host 1--------F5---------Host 2
My VS configuration: admin@(F5_TEST)(cfg-sync Standalone)(Active)(/Common)(tmos) list ltm virtual ltm virtual TEST-NO-RD { connection-limit 1500 destination 0.0.0.0:any ip-forward mask any profiles { fastL4 { } } source 0.0.0.0/0 translate-address disabled translate-port disabled vs-index 2
When I send traffic from Host 1 to Host 2 - no traffic come to VS (all statistic = 0).
Is there bug or not ? please help me to understand

With IP forwarding the traffic is routed. Have you configured the hosts with the facing F5 self address as a gateway address? For testing just make it the default.

Hi Dave, Yes, 2 hosts is configured the default gateway to F5. The problem is I can see the traffic go to the interface but all the VS statistic is 0. I can not understand why ?

Make sure the virtual server setting for Protocols (Local Traffic->Virtual Servers->Virtual Server List->TEST-NO-RD:Configuration->Protocols) is set to *All Protocols.
Can you provide the following:
- IP address of each host
- Default gateway of each host
- Self-IP address configuration on the F5:
tush list net self
- VLAN configuration on the F5:
tush list net vlan
- Verify that each host can ping its gateway addresses

Thanks for your help, I've solved this my problem. There is no problem of routing, the problem relate with ICMP echo and ARP. I've turn on the ICMP echo reply and ARP for host on all vlans. When I turn off ICMP and just enable VS on 1 side -> Everything is looking good :)
