Big IP LTM trial version
Hi Team,
I am just trying to run big IP LTM virtual edition 110.1.0.3341.1084 on Vmware ESXi 5. All the configuration is done and when i try to access the application I am facing damm slowness and not sure why it so.
As per the documentation its saying big Ip ltm Ve edition 10.1.0.3341.1084. is supported on Vmware ESX 4 and not on 5. is that the reason for this issue?
Also I am not able to download any other version higher than 10.2.2 which is supported on ESXI 5, since it permitting me to Generate the trial version.
Please help me on this. This is really critical.
Waiting for an update.
Regards
Aknair

I don't see any reason why you can't run any VE version on ESXi v5.
Can you elaborate on the exact performance issue please? - Akhilesh_128432

I am running the version big IP LTM virtual edition 10.1.0.3341.1084 trial version on Vmware ESX 5.1.
When I try to access the application , initial HTTP page will load for authentication but after firing the login credentials nothing is loading after that. Not sure why it so.
If I accessed directly without Virtual server IP, its loading fine.
please help me on this. - What_Lies_Bene1

OK, can you post the VS and Pool configuration (suitably secured) please?
Also, can you elaborate on the authentication, type, local, remote etc. etc. - Akhilesh_128432

is there anyway I can send the Screen shot of my LB configuration? - What_Lies_Bene1

There is but it's painful and probably wont cover it all in one screen.
The CLI output of tmsh show virtual 'name' and tmsh show pool 'name' would be preferable. - Akhilesh_128432

please find below result.
tmsh list ltm virtual vs_http
ltm virtual vs_http {
destination 10.80.97.44:13000
ip-protocol tcp
mask 255.255.255.255
pool http_pool
profiles {
tcp { }
}
}
[root@bigip-f5:Active] config tmsh list ltm pool http_pool
ltm pool http_pool {
members {
10.80.97.221:irisa {
state up
}
}
monitor gateway_icmp
} - What_Lies_Bene1

OK, that all looks very simple, not even a HTTP profile! So can we move onto the other elements;
Can you elaborate on the authentication, type, local, remote etc. etc.
What is the application?
Is SSL involved? - Akhilesh_128432

Steve,
The authentication type is Remote. This is a java appliacation running in Linux/Jboss/oracle stack.
a) first off all we will hit the application through VIP and then it called an authentication module through HTTPS internally and we will login the page
\b) once the login is sucessful, user can access application.
c) we are accessing application through HTTP. - What_Lies_Bene1

OK, Java can be a common issue if IPs are embedded within it's payload but for now it might be a quick win to just turn on SNAT Automap. Can you select that in the VS config please and test and report?
