AWS F5 BIG-IP Virtual Edition (Free Trial)
Hi, everyone.
I want to test F5 BIG-IP VE on AWS for free. I am a free tier class for AWS. When I tried to create an F5 BIG-IP VE instance, I checked the 30-day Free Trial. If I use it for 30 days and create a free tier F5 BIG-IP VE again after deletion, is it still available for free?
I'd appreciate it if you let me know.
Thank You
Hey Seong!
I'm not sure you will be able to run it again once you have deployed it, but, a fair warning, you will not be able to run a BIG-IP in AWS completely free. The AWS free tier only applies to EC2 t2.micro instances and the BIG-IP requires at least a t2.medium. The 30-day trial will cover the hourly software charges of the product but the AWS infrastructure charges will still apply.
And for a t2.medium in region US East (N. Virginia) running on 64bit AMI will cost $0.4 EC2/hr or aprox. $10 per 24 hours.
Take it from someone who have received a bill from AWS when expecting everything to be free ;)
