AV server in transparent mode

I am currently trying to put an AV server "inline" between F5 and DB server. I was curious if anyone here had used the Last Hop Pool to accomplish this?? Here is the scenario:

 

F5 VIP sends traffic to backend database servers. F5 has a self-IP in the same VLAN as the DB servers.

 

Can I put the AV server on the same VLAN as the F5 self-IP and DB server and set the AV server as the Last-Hop-Pool?? Neither the F5 or the AV server are the Gateway for this Vlan, that is a seperate L3 switch.
