Automatically disable Virtual Server and Virtual address when creating a Virtual Server

Hello everyone

I need to know if it's possible to create a VS and VA have them automatically completly disable and not answering to ARP request

I know that when you create a VS , you can disable it . But if I am not mistaking a Virtual address is created at the same time and it will answer to ARP request. I can go and disble ARP on the Virtual Address.

But between the time that I click to create the VS and VA and the time that I disable ARP on the VA, will it answer ARP request Let`s say it takes me 30 seconds to 1 minutes to diable ARP , what will happen.

I need to know this , because I may create VS with addresses that are already in use on another load balancer, and I don't want the new VS and VA on the new device answering until when we need to switch

Thanks in advance for your answers

  • you can create virtual address (with arp disabled) first and then virtual server, can't you?

  • Hi guys I've done some tests. I am not sure what the behavior is. I tought I had to disable ARP on the VA , bu I guess not. It seems just disabling the VS is enough, I don't see the IP and MAC is ARP table on my PC. Any comments anyone?
