Are open NAT connections maintained upon failover?

I heard someone say by default open NAT connections are maintained when a failover occurs in a HA pair.. I can't find any doc referencing this online.. Any insight? Thanks!

From what I can see, SNAT and Virtual Server connections are mirrored.
